Our sixth Seymour One Act Play Festival (SOAP) will be held on Saturday 9 September 2023

Seymour Performers Workshop is very proud to be presenting its sixth Seymour One Act Play Festival (SOAP) on Saturday 9th September 2023. Theatre companies from across the state will bring their most exciting work to our SOAP Festival, representing the very best in community theatre making. It is our hope that the arts community and the theatre-going public will appreciate this theatre form as much as we do, and that the energy and enthusiasm of Festival Director, Brett Harvey, will again translate into this exciting and innovative annual event.

Event Outline:
All performance sessions for both adult and youth performance groups will be conducted on Saturday 9th September. The day will be comprised of three 2 ½ hour-long (approx.) sessions beginning at 12 midday, concluding with a presentation ceremony in the evening.

11.00am – BBQ Brunch
11.50am – Official Introduction and Welcoming Speech
12.00pm – 3.00pm – Session 1 – YOUTH & Adult: 3-6 plays
3.00pm – 3.30pm – Afternoon Late Lunch (scones, cake, BBQ etc)
3.30pm – 6.00pm – Session 2 – Adult: 3-5 Adult plays
6.00pm – 7.00pm – Dinner Break (BBQ)
7.00pm – 9.30pm – Session 3 – Adult: 3-5 Adult plays
9.30pm – 10.00pm – Adjudication time and awards ceremony

Please note: The session times are subject to change, depending on the number and duration of performances. The Awards Presentation may also be moved forward/back if sessions are not filled, or extended.

Catering:
We will have a delicious range of catering options available on the day including BBQ, homemade cakes and treats, hot and cold beverages including a bar (no BYO).

Applications are now open and we encourage theatre groups and performers interested in participating to complete the form via the link below. Applications close at 5pm on Friday 11th August 2023
